Up to 32 legislators of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) have submitted their resignations to the deputy opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Rana Sanaullah to stop the re-election of General Pervez Musharraf.
Rana Sanaullah told reporters here on Thursday that the resignations of the party legislators will be submitted to the Speaker in accordance with the decision of the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM). He said they would not support any presidential candidate in the forthcoming presidential poll, which according to him is unconstitutional.
He claimed that six legislators of the ruling PML-Q are also in contact with him and they would announce their decision regarding tendering resignations. He said that he had already received resignations of three MPAs including Chaudhry Azhar Nadeem, Mehr Rabnawaz and Amir Sahotra who recently joined the PML-N.
He said all the resignations would be submitted to the Speaker Punjab Assembly as and when APDM leadership desired so. He said the nation would soon hear good news and there would be a true democratic order in the country. Mian Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed and Abida Javaid were also present.
