Riphah International University has established a medical unit with eight faculties in United Arab Emirates (UAE) in collaboration with Ras-Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University. The Government of UAE has endorsed the accreditation of the university and by the end of 2010.
The regular campus will start functioning at Ras-Al-Khaimah, said Professor Ayaz of the Riphah University while briefing the media about the varsity on Friday in an introductory session of newly established medical university.
He informed that at the initial stage education of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Bachelor of Pharmacy classes would be started.
"Riphah University would be the only educational institution in UAE which would be attached with state run hospitals where students could undergo internship and house jobs," Professor Ayaz maintained. He said that university has inducted highly qualified, expert and experienced faculty from USA, UK and other countries of the world that will impart education of international quality.
He said that university would give 25 percent concession to those Pakistani students who get 80 percent marks in F Sc (Pre Medical). University would also offer visa to students along with most modern hostel, transportation and free of cost treatment facilities including economical fee package.
