Habib Sugar Mills Limited (HSM), Nawabshah would start crushing of sugarcane in the first week of November 2007. Resident Director of the mills, Muhammad Yousif told PPI on telephone here Tuesday that Sakrand Sugar Mills and Al-Noor Sugar Mills, both in same district, would also start crushing at the same time.
He said that boilers of the mills would light up and put to test after Eid. The workers and other seasonal staff would also prefer to come after Eid, he added. He said the mill had crushed 710,965 tons of sugarcane and produced 64,014 tons of sugar last year. According to him the sugarcane position in the district is very satisfactory and expected to crush nearly more than 20 million maund this season.
