Pakistan Railway, Karachi Division, had been able to control black-marketing of tickets which unscrupulous elements indulge in, usually on the occasion of Eid days. "We have been able to strictly control black-marketing of tickets with the deployment of special raiding teams", Divisional Commercial Officer Kashid Yusufani told APP on Wednesday.
He said that while no case of black-marketing of tickets at railway platforms has come to the fore as yet, Karachi Railway Division had taken stringent measures to curb the menace of over-charging of tickets as well and in this regard caught four booking clerks and were suspended.
The DCO said that reservation in all the up-country bound mail and express trains for Eid days is completed but still there was rush of people who wanted to go to up-country destinations to celebrate Eid with their families. In this regard, he said, railway is operating three special trains on October 10 and 11 in which seats and berths are still available for reservation.
