Punjab Minister for Power, Chaudhry Armaghan Subhani has said that the reconciliation cell of the power department will host a website to resolve the billing disputes between the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) and various provincial government departments. The site will start functioning at the end of the current month.
He said this while chairing a department meeting in his office here on Thursday. The Chief Engineer (Power), Muhammad Yaqoob, In-charge Reconciliation Cell, Iftikhar Ahmad Randhawa and System Analyst Samar Iqbal attended the meeting.
Subhani said reconciliation cell in the power department and the billing system of government departments would be further furnished with the set up of the website.
He further said that the cell was monitoring more than 51,000 government electricity connections and the site would prove to be a milestone in minimising the probability of disputes of Rs 200 million prevalent between different provincial government departments and WAPDA.
Besides, it would also help avoiding additional surcharge to customers (government departments), said the minister adding that department's nominated officers would be able to rectify consumer's complaints on any time-any where basis.
