The Institute of Bankers (IBP) and University of Karachi have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently for launching an industry focused, high value MBA banking and finance programme beginning from the next year (2008).
The MoU was signed at a simple ceremony held in the office of the vice-chancellor, University of Karachi by the Chief Executive of IBP, Muhammad Saleem Umer and Registrar of the University, Professor Rais Alvi on behalf of their respective organisations.
According to the IBP press release, under this unique arrangement an industry-aligned curriculum would be provided by IBP plus support by way of capacity building, training, supervised internship and publication.
Speaking on the occasion Professor Dr Peerzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui appreciated the role of IBP in constructing a bridge between the industry and the academia. He spoke highly of IBP knowledge endeavours. Saleem Umer lauded the efforts of Karachi University and informed that IBP has knowledge association with nine universities across the country.-PR
