Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon said on Saturday the election of President General Pervez Musharraf for second consecutive term was the manifestation of trust reposed by the people in his prudent leadership.
"Your success would further strengthen the democratic institutions as well as ensure continuity of economic policies in the country," the minister said this in a greeting message to the President Musharraf. Jadoon said that owing to the dynamic leadership of President Musharraf the country had achieved unprecedented progress and prosperity over the last few years.
"President Musharraf has earned a prestigious ranking for Pakistan among the comity of nations, besides making it an impregnable state both internally and externally," he said. The minister said a sizeable reduction has been witnessed in poverty, backwardness and unemployment during the tenure of President Musharraf.
