A three-night Mehfil-e-Shabeena will be organised from 27 to 29 Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 1428-H (October 9 to 11) here at the Faisal Mosque. According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs here, twelve Huffaz have been selected from across the country for the recitation of the Holy Quran in the Mehfil-e-Shabeena.
They will recite 10 Para of the Holy Quran every night in the Taraveeh. The time of Isha prayer at the Faisal mosque is 8.00 pm and that of Mehfil-e-Shabeena is 8.15 pm.
Public transport arrangements have been made by road transport authorities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad to make the attendance of Mehfil-e-Shabeena easier for the public. The Ministry has advised the people not to bring minor children, in order to maintain the sanctity of the occasion. Mobile phones, camera, bags, thermoses and laptops are also prohibited.
