The Lahore High Court on Tuesday raised an objection on a petition filed against National Reconciliation Ordinance 2007 and asked the petitioner to submit the copy of Ordinance. Petitioner MD Tahir has challenged the Ordinance as mala fide, discriminatory and promulgated without lawful authority.
He was of the view that the Ordinance favours a number of political leaders and workers who were involved in plundering public exchequers and criminal activities. He contended that the respondent through an Ordinance could not pardon any person involved in plundering public money and criminal offences.
He, therefore, prayed to the court to declare the ordinance illegal and unconstitutional.
