Chief of Navel Staff Admiral Muhammad Afzal Tahir has said Pakistan Navy would continue contributing its due share in the ongoing efforts for reconstruction and rehabilitation of the earthquake-stricken areas of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and NWFP.
He expressed these views while speaking as chief guest after performing the ground breaking ceremony of over Rs 21 million center at quake-hit Chikkar town, some 45 km from here Wednesday.
The project for reconstruction of the Chikkar Rural Health Centre has been sponsored by Pakistan Navy Women Association under the spirit to contribute in the medical facilities for the rehabilitation of the ailing humanity in the quake-hit zone.
The ceremony was also addressed by President, Pakistan Navy Women Association Begum Naheed Humayun and AJK Minister for Works Colonel (Retd) Raja Muhammad Nasim who highlighted the salient features of the project and other similar welfare projects being launched by Pakistan Navy Women Association in other quake-affected areas with the assistance of the government of Azad Jammu Kashmir.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials of Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army and the government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir besides large number of elders of the area. Chief of Naval Staff continued that the people of Jammu & Kashmir carried immense importance for Pakistan - since the hearts of the people of Kashmir and Pakistan beat together.
