Shazia Mubashar (30), an accused in case of attempt to murder General Pervez Musharraf, was bailed out on Wednesday from New Central Jail, Bahawalpur, against two surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each. Her father Hafiz Muhammad Qureshi had submitted the bail application before the special anti-terrorism court of Muhammad Akram Khan.
Shazia's father said that she was arrested at 10 pm on January 3, 2004 when her mother Shamim had died. She was taken into custody along with her nine-month old son and brother Muhammad Tahir on charge of plotting murderous attempt on General Pervez Musharraf. She was taken to different investigation cells where she was tortured, but no charge could be proved against her.
