The International Islamic University (IIU) and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (Nuces) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for collaboration in post graduate education (MS & Ph.D) by pooling faculty, staff and research infrastructure.
The MoU was signed here on Wednesday by President IIU, Dr Anwar Hussain Siddiqui, and Rector, Nuces, Dr Amir Muhammed, says a statement issued here on Wednesday. According to the MoU both universities will collaborate in the areas of computer sciences, information technology and engineering.
The MoU further adds that the initial objective of this venture is to allow students of Fast-NU to enroll in the courses being offered at IIU and both the universities will share the list of all relevant information in a timely manner to facilitate students in making a timely decision.
Fast-NU and IIU will give full credit to courses studied by their graduate students at each other's campus. The students will pay the tuition fees at their parent university while both the universities will depute a programme co-ordinator for this collaboration arrangement.
The programme co-ordinators will manage the resignation, tuition fee and submission of the grades for the subjects. After the registration in a course, the students will be subject to the rules and regulations of the host university to allow their students to select thesis/project supervisor from their combined faculty pool. This will facilitate students of both universities to choose their topic from a relatively large research area.
To provide the "Guest Students" unrestricted access to their library facilities, management of both universities will maintain a close collaboration and keep on exploration avenues for future collaborative work and projects. Detailed mechanism for collaboration will be recommended by the programme co-ordinators of both universities, which shall be placed before the relevant authorities for the approval.
