Exporters seek withdrawal of 'workers welfare fund'

Local exporters' community has urged the Federal government to withdraw the recently imposed Workers Welfare Fund (WWF) on exporters. The exporters' community was already under the burden of various taxes whereas the imposition of WWF would deprived them of the spirit of Presumptive Tax Regime (PTR) besides affecting the country's exports, they said.
It was stated in a joint meeting of Departmental Committees of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Taxation and Sales Tax on Tuesday afternoon chaired by Chaudhry Zulfiqar Hayyat. The meeting also discussed various other issues including WWF imposed on exporters.
Dr Sarfraz Bashir Senior Vice President SCCI, Liaquat Mehmood, Zulfiqar Ahmad Nasir and Ghulam Mustfa attended the meeting and called upon the government to withdraw the WWF for the promotion of exports of the country.
