Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Sharif (PML-N) Information Secretary Ahsan Iqbal has said the Chaudhry brothers and their party has become D-team of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), while Pervez Ellahi used to claim that the PML-N is the PPP's B-team.
Now, the Punjab chief minister is openly helping workers and PPP leaders, willing to take part in the party caravans in Karachi to welcome Benazir's arrival. Ahsan Iqbal said this while holding a press conference here on Tuesday at the Lahore Press Club. Criticising the 2007 National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) he said that this is the Corruption Ordinance to protect robbers, assassins, law-breakers and the PML-N strongly condemned it.
He said President Pervez Musharraf had spent billions of rupees to establish the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) since past 10 years and after NRO promulgation offenders would get relief and apology which was illegal and unconstitutional act on the behalf of the government.
The PML-N would continue its struggles to restore the democracy and supremacy of the law and the Constitution in the country. "We will not compromise with the President Musharraf on the anti-Pakistani policies," he said.
He said the All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) would solve the country's problems because the movement was the amalgamation of all political and religious parties but the ruling and other political parties lacked harmony. When asked if Mullana Fazal-ul-Rehman would corporate with the PML-N, he said the Mullana was the leader of the MMA, part of the movement.
