Condemning the statements of Chief Ministers of Sindh and Punjab, PPP's Central Vice-Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that the government was trying to provoke the peace loving workers of PPP by removing the party banners, posters and opening fires on the rally in Sangarh.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, Yousaf Raza Gilani said, "We are not taking the Sindh Chief Minister seriously who wanted to pave the way for emergency," however, he warned, "We would react violently if anyone tried to create any hurdle in the way of flood of PPP workers."
"As far the opinion of President General Pervez Musharraf is concerned, we respect it but we would not accept the dictation of anyone. We are bound to act upon the advice of Central Executive Committee and Federal Council," he added.
He said that he had old relations with Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Rahim. He met him in prison twice with Government's messages. He is used to issuing irresponsible statements. "Chief Minister should keep in his mind that his the government cannot suppress the PPP activists who are ever-ready to go to prison, bearing lashes and rendering sacrifices.
He said, "PML-Q is a test-tube baby, which cannot survive without the oxygen of uniform." Yousaf Raza Gilani said that President would have to doff off his uniform before oath-taking ceremony.
Syed Yousaf Raza said that National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was promulgated to benefit Aftab Sherpao, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Dr Sher Afgan and other 80 member of king's party while Asif Zardari, he (Yousaf-Raza) had completed their sentence and other cases were not proved so far. He appreciated the City District Nazim of Karachi for not complying with the orders of Sindh Chief Minister regarding removal of PPP flags and welcome banners.
