Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has advised all the owners and proprietors of CNG stations not to use re-stamped or grinded CNG storage Cylinders in their own interest. A spokesman of the OGRA said here Tuesday that a storage cylinder supplier (M/S EKC Dubai) has supplied re-stamped and grinded storage cylinders to Pakistan.
"Authority has till date not allowed installation of such cylinders at CNG stations", he said adding that these cylinders are still under technical examination and are not yet declared suitable for use at CNG stations for storage of CNG.
He asked all CNG stations and Licensees who are either in the process of setting up CNG stations or in operation not to use such cylinders and satisfy themselves about the genuineness of the storage cylinder including stamp markings before procuring the same. He also advised LPG consumers to purchase LPG cylinders only from the authorised LPG distributors of licensed LPG marketing companies.
He said that some unauthorised persons and illegal decanters are involved in supplying LPG in substandard cylinders which is a grave risk to the life and property of the consumers. He also asked the LPG consumers to purchase LPG cylinders only from the authorised distributors for their safety.
