Higher trend was evident on the commodities wholesale market as holy month of Ramazan was passing through its last days, most commodities rose were essential items like masoor moong, Irri 6 barby.
Some commodities not included on Saturday last: moong Sindh quoted at Rs 3200, masoor Canada rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4300, masoor dal turned sharply higher by Rs 200 to Rs 5200, barby Sindh and Mardan rose by Rs 100 to Rs 1300, Irri 6 Sindh better type gained Rs 25 to Rs 1775, while the other type was put at Rs 1745.
On Monday a few changes were marked on the wholesale markets such as monng Punjab lost Rs 25 to Rs 3250, masoor Australia was down by Rs 100 to Rs 4400, and masoor Canada lost Rs 100 to Rs 4300.
On Tuesday Jodia Bazar rates were not available. The few rates received from commodities wholesale markets were : wheat which has been maintaining up-trend and on the day its inferior type registered rise of Rs 50 to Rs 1550 while the other type was recorded at Rs 1565.
Gram garda dal Punjab lost Rs 50 to Rs 3400 while better type was quoted at Rs 3500, beetle Chana I low quality shed Rs 25 to Rs 2975 while better type was quoted at Rs 3100, beetle 50x50 low ty[e lost Rs 25 to Rs 2875 and other type was quoted at Rs 3000, dal beetle low type was down by Rs 75 to Rs 3500 while other quality was quoted at Rs 3600. Cotton cakes low type rose by Rs 10 to Rs 450 while other type was quoted at Rs 510 and new type was said to have lost Rs 10 to Rs 325 and better type quoted at Rs 420.
On Thursday wheat firmed up both old and new rising by Rs 50 to Rs 1600 and the other was quoted at Rs 1615. Guwar from Sindh turned sharply lower by Rs 150 to Rs 1800 while better type fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2100. Sugar good kind was strangely lower despite mills warning on the reverse. It fell by Rs 20 to Rs 2680 and superior type shed Rs 60 to Rs 2700.
Jodia Bazar commodities rates were not received. On Friday commodity wholesales markets were closed on account of Jumat-ul-Wida, therefore rates changes were not received. The market will open to normal working on Wednesday next after the long Eid holidays.
