Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz expressed confidence that the interim government of NWFP would be able to establish conducive political atmosphere in the province both to ensure peace and create conditions for the holding of free, fair and transparent elections.
The Prime Minister said this while talking to the acting Chief Minister NWFP, Shams-ul-Mulk, who called on him here at the Prime Minister's House on Wednesday. The Prime Minister said that government had always focused on effective delivery of social services particularly in health, education and infrastructure development. These efforts need to be continued so that the benefit could reach to the common people at the grass-root level, he added.
The Prime Minister said that development projects launched in every province to bring qualitative improvement in the life of people throughout the country would require focused attention for early completion. These projects will provide better facilities of life, solve the immediate problems of the people and also create more jobs opportunities, the Prime Minister added.
The Prime Minister said that the government allocated record amount for Public Sector Development Project (PSDP) and it will bring substantial improvement in the quality and standard of living of common man.
This was done in pursuance of agenda of growth with dignity and equity. These initiatives showed encouraging signs to bring the poor, vulnerable and backward regions into the mainstream of development through targeted interventions and expanding social safety nets. Overall political situation in NWFP and the law and order situation in the province also came under discussion.
