Inspector General Police, Punjab has taken strict notice of the fact that 'vantage points' are not set up next to bank branches by the local police as per directions, and ordered all DPOs of the province to ensure the same. Police sources talking to APP here said that the IGP has also warned of stern action against errant officials.
Observing that lack of such 'vantage points' have led to security lapses and an increase in bank dacoities, the police chief has ordered that these points be set up immediately. He also directed that a certificate be obtained in this regard from the concerned bank manager, to be included in the report submitted to the IG office, said sources.
