The Women Development Ministry (WDM)has launched a project entitled National Fund for Advancement of Rural Women (NFARW) in collaboration with Khushali Bank, costing Rs 39.785 million for socio-economic empowerment of rural women.
Sources told Business Recorder here on Thursday that Departmental Development Working Party(DDWP) approved the project two years ago. The project's completion period is June 2008.
However cumulative utilisation fund under the project remains at Rs 21.8 million with the Women Development Ministry's contribution at Rs 26.785 million and Khushali Bank share Rs 13 million, they said. Sources said that Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocation for the project is Rs 4.985 million.
Patti Development Project Chitral was started with the total cost of Rs 35 million. Departmental Development Working Party had approved the project two years ago and the project period is three years whereas scheduled completion month of the project is June 2008, they said.
Sources said that the Government share is Rs 32.733 million and the Khushali Bank share is Rs 3.252 million. However cumulative utilisation remained Rs 26.220 million. Moreover Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) allocation in fiscal 2007-08 remained Rs 6.50 million and the PSDP allocation in the previous year was Rs 3.720 million, they said.
Under Patti Development project Chitral 8777 women have been trained in different trades like vocational training, fibre development, basic business management training and guild management training, they said. Sources said that 200 women were given micro-credit ranging from Rs 5000 to 7000 and Rs 10.6745 million have been disbursed among 2000 women.
