The NWFP Governor Lieutenant General Ali Muhammad Jan Aurakzai (Retd) has said that practical work on the establishment of Marble City, the first-ever project of its nature in Fata will be taken in hand shortly, which, he added had a great potential to generate economic activities in the area.
Talking after performing earth breaking ceremony for construction of Fata Development Authority Complex, the head offices building of newly established Fata Development Authority in Phase-V of Hayatabad here on Saturday, the governor said, "indeed the Marble City would be the first ever glaring achievement on the part of the authority as well, for which it had been working really hard since its inception".
Land acquisition process for the project, he added, has been completed and constant supply of the required level of electricity throughout the year will be ensured to make it fully useful and beneficial for the respective investors.
The complex, to be spread over a plot, measuring eight kanals, will have two portions with 4-storey and six storey buildings each and the former would be dedicated for the offices of the authority while the major part of the complex building would be meant for private offices to generate additional income for the authority. The entire project is expected to cost Rs 250 millions and will be completed in two years time.
In fact, the governor said, tremendous development activities are in progress in Fata and the President General Pervez Musharraf is taking keen interest in ensuring well being of the respective people.
Highlighting the importance of the construction of a proper office building for the authority, which at present is housed in a rented building, the governor said, it will definitely ensure congenial working environment for the respective officials.
With the availability of proper office premises, which would have all the required working facilities in accordance with modern day requirements, will definitely prove helpful to further improve the efficiency of the staff, he said.
