Chairperson PPP and former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto says there should be no objection in inviting foreign experts to probe October 18, 2007 attack on her procession in Karachi in which 140 innocent people were killed and over 500 injured.
``I do not understand why there is objection on inviting foreign experts who have scientific and forensic technology to investigate such attacks,' she told newsmen on Thursday evening at her residence in Karachi after a meeting with top PML(N) leader Makhdoom Javed Hashmi.
``Since October 18, 2007 till date it has not yet been ascertained by national agencies whether said attack was suicide or not. There was attack on me and without recording my statement an FIR was registered at Police Station in Karachi. I also want to ask as to who took decision to appoint a particular police official to head October 18 attack investigations,' Benazir questioned.
She said President Pervez Musharraf and Sindh High Court had directed to provide her full security but that has not been done. I am not asking for my security but also for all the people. Alongwith security personnel innocent people were also being killed which should not happen in the country.'
PPP Chairperson said she was asked not to announce her visits in advance due to security reasons. ``I will be going to Larkana (on October 19). Some of my visits will be announced and others may not be disclosed in advance. I take security from police as well as my own guards.'
She said madressahs (religious schools) in the country were ``brain washing students and people and had become arsenal of weapons. These should be investigations of such madressahs. I have children and love all children of the country. However, those working according to Islam and law should be allowed. Islam gives message of peace and tolerance.
``There is need to change curriculum of madressahs. We will neither permit nor tolerate political madressahs. We will also not allow anything against the constitution. Our mission is to save Pakistan, democracy and would not allow violence in politics,' Benazir Bhutto emphasised.
