Collectorate of Custom Preventive has seized 8.2-kilogram off-white heroin powder. During a continued drive against drug trafficking through air and sea routes, between the intervening night of 24th/25th October, 2007 the staff of the Drug Enforcement Cell of Collectorate of Custom Preventive, Jinnah International Airport recovered and seized 8.2 kgs (net) heroin powder.
This powder recovered from the possession of a Pakistani passenger namely Muhammad Nazim s/o Muhammad Sharif, holding Pakistani Passport No KD-888374, who was leaving for Katmandu via Bahrain by Gulf Airlines Flight No GF-0751.
The heroin powder, so recovered was cleverly concealed in the bottom of a suitcase and three side-walls of a shoulder bag being carried by him. The passenger has been arrested and prosecution case under Control of Narcotics Substances Act, 1997, has been registered against him. Further investigation is in progress.-PR
