World Punjabi Congress (WPC), which held the 15th World Punjabi Conference last month in New Delhi, India, called for easing visa restrictions between Pakistan and India to facilitate visitors, promote Punjabi literature and cultures, and ensure friendly relations vital for peace in the region.
The conference, held from September 26 to 28, was attended by a large number of literati, intellectuals, educationists from both countries, according to a press release issued here on the return of the WPC Pakistan delegation led by its chairman Fakhar Zaman. Several literary functions were hosted by various Punjab related institutions on the sidelines of the conference.
The conference discussed Indo-Pak peace related issues with special reference to literature and culture, and passed several resolutions, with focus on the peace process and dialogue initiated between Pakistan and India, and urged that all the problems be solved in equitable and democratic manner.
