It has been observed that most of the NGOs to attract donors for funding go beyond all moral limits for example, a report was released in Lahore, namely, "77pc men think wife-beating is macho". This was revealed in a presentation delivered in a four-day workshop held in the city under the aegis of German Agency for Technical Co-operation (GTZ) on 'Sensitive Reporting through Gender Lens.'
The sample population taken for research is always questionable. However the said report did not mention the same so the authenticity of such research cannot be established. The report suggests that "Change in mindsets in this regard would be possible when human beings start saying 'no' to violence and violence would end when 'human spirits speak up' against it."
The authors of these reports often remain alienated from the ground realities. If this suggestion is taken to change the so-called violent situation it would only result in further deterioration.
The base of these reports is shown as gender indifference whereas it is a fact that all violence against the wives of these (illiterate, ignorant and uneducated) males is initiated by other female members of the males' family.
Also very much interestingly the low-strata women working for these high-class NGO working ladies are less paid and are often made to work for them against support in some investigation or ongoing violence case etc.
