Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Abdullah Yusuf has said that the 2007-08 revenue collection target of Rs 1.025 trillion is ambitious and challenging but is achievable.He was giving concluding remarks at the 15th National Tax Conference here on Friday evening.
The conference, which lasted about nine hours. was attended among others by relevant FBR Members, Regional Commissioners of Income Tax (RCsIT), Directors-General of Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), Commissioners of Income Tax (CsIT) and Commissioners (Appeals).
The FBR Chairman directed the field formations to concentrate more on those areas where a huge gap exists between the potential and actual revenue paid. He said that a lot more was needed to be done to meet the challenges of the future. "We need to update and equip ourselves with latest techniques besides moving in the right direction to achieve the desired results," he added.
