More than 30,000 children were administered anti-polio drops in the rural areas of the Federal Capital on the first day of three-day campaign, said the Deputy District Health Officer Dr Amir Zada on Tuesday.
On the special directions of Chief Commissioner Islamabad Hamid Ali Khan, the District Health Office Islamabad would administer anti-polio drops to over 75,000 children of rural areas of Islamabad during this three-day drive.
He said 300 mobile teams visited door-to-door in the far-flung areas on the first day of drive, which also administered anti-polio drops to children along with vitamin A drops. He said that health department has also set up many camp offices in rural areas for wide coverage. Moreover, rural health centres has also made elaborated arrangements for making the drive successful.
