Hundreds of Sub-engineers, draftsmen, tracers and other staff of Drawing Branch of different nation building departments on Tuesday staged a demonstration in front of Multan Press Club on the call of All Pakistan Technical Draftsmen, Sub engineers Federations (APTDF) for up-gradation of their service scale.
The protestors were led by federation's leaders including Rai Muhammad Arif, Abdul Khaliq, Dr Ahmed Taseer, Haji Muhammad Qavi, Tahir Khan Khakwani, Munawar Khurshid, Mujahid Hussain Pasha, Aslam Ansari, Nadeem Pasha, Shahid Irfan, Professor Tanveer Shah, Syed Kaswar Razi, Asad Pitafi, Sajid Rashid, Imtiaz and others.
Addressing the demonstration, federation's leaders criticised for following biased policy in up-gradation of employees. They argued that the government had slapped all the employees by upgrading some one and neglecting the major part of civil servants.
They demanded immediate up-gradation of their service scale. They said that their protest had entered the 35th day. Dr Ahmed Taseer told newsmen that a delegation of APTDF led by Zaigham Abbas, Provincial Chief of the federation, would meet Punjab Chief Minister in Lahore to discuss their problems with him.
