The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued contempt notices to professor Superior College Tariq Awan, ordering him to appear before the court on November 7 and explain as to why he wrote contemptuous letter to the court.
The court passed these orders in the course of proceedings of a petition filed by Superior College a student challenging the decision of the disciplinary committee headed by Tariq Awan.
The petitioner was facing charges of stolen mobile phones but the disciplinary committee expelled her from the college even after the court's clear directions of giving reasons for any action.
The petitioner then went to the court in contempt of court where Tariq sent the copy of the letter issued to the petitioner but the court issued his warrants. The court later withdrew his arrest orders and advised the college counsel to assure the appearance of Professor Tariq before the court on the next date of hearing.
