Indian Defence Minister A K Antony has said India was trying to find amicable solutions to disputes with Pakistan and China. Media reports quoting him as telling reporters at Kochi in Kerala that India wanted "friendly neighbours."
"With Pakistan and China we do not want any confrontation and we are trying to find solutions amicably, but problems are there," he said. Referring to the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said that compared to last year the violence level there had come down by 50 percent. "The only concern now was of cross border militancy, which is continuing even after three years of cease-fire," he claimed.
Antony said during his recent discussions with Ghulam Nabi Azad, Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir and officials of the state government in Srinagar, it had been decided that army and paramilitary forces would hand over school buildings, hospitals, guest houses, play grounds and other public offices under their control to the government before November 30. The Delhi Government had also decided to give higher rent to the land of farmers occupied by the armed forces in occupied Kashmir, he said.
