Former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Friday claimed that decision to make the Line of Control (LoC) as a permanent border was almost final but the Kashmiris would not accept any agreement recognising the Loc as international border as it was being finalised without their consultations.
Addressing a press conference, Barraster Sultan said that Pakistan and India were set to sign an agreement in this regard. Kashmir is the core issue between India and Pakistan since the partition of the Subcontinent. The issue of Kashmir was the ulterior motive for the wars between the two countries and is still hindering normalisation of relations between the two countries.
International community has also made efforts for the solution of this issue several times. This process has been augmented especially after 9/11 and both countries are striving to have a permanent solution.
Sultan said, "We have never opposed the dialogue process between India and Pakistan. But we will not accept any agreement being made without the consent of the Kashmiri people. Instead Kashmiris should be considered as a third party in every dialogue on the issue". He said that 'master plan' to relocate the capital of AJK from Muzafarabad to some other city is also a move in this direction. "It is the step to divide Kashmir in to two parts. We have started a campaign to prevent this division and will never compromise on our stance", he vowed.
The former AJK premier said his party would issue a white paper on November 15 about the embezzlements committed by the current regime and would not let it rule AJK anymore.
