Punjab Chief Minister, Ch. Pervaiz Elahi has said that the emergency has been imposed for the integrity, development and stability of Pakistan, which will help in reducing terrorism.
He was addressing a big public meeting at Ajnala, Gujrat, on Sunday. He said that emergency has been imposed with good intentions so that all national institutions could perform their duties within their jurisdiction.
He said that Benazir Bhutto has travelled the journey of 'daughter of the East to daughter of dollar" speedily. He said that ten times more development has been made during the PML tenure than the development made in two times tenures of Nawaz Sharif and Benazir.
He asked the Muslim Leaguers to make preparations for elections. He said that Pakistan Muslim League will not only clean sweep in Punjab but throughout the country. He said that the present government, keeping in view the provincial development, has ensured the provision of equal funds to all the areas.
Provincial Minister for Education Mian Imran Masood, District Nazim Gujrat Ch. Shafaat Hussain, Members National Assembly Ch.Wajat Hussain, Ch. Rehman Naseer Marala, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Sports Khalid Asghar Gharaal, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Law, Ch. Abdullah Yousuf Warraich, Members Punjab Assembly Aamir Usman Raza, Khadeja Naseem Farooqi, Safia Javed Ch., President PML Women Wing Punjab Shahana Naseem Farooqi, Tehsil Nazim Gujrat Saadat Nawaz Ajnala, Naib District Nazim Gujrat Mian Asghar Hayat, General Secretary Pakistan Muslim League Gujrat Ch. Muhammad Tufail, PML leaders Mian Tariq Mahmood, Liaqat Bhaddar and Mian Haroon Masood were also present on the occasion.
President PML Gujrat and MNA Ch. Wajahat Hussain presented a resolution in favour of imposition of emergency by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf in the country and all the people supported enthusiastically by standing on their seats.
The chief minister said that Nawaz Sharif and Benazir came to power twice but they did nothing for the development of the country and the nation. He said that Benazir and Asif Zardari is a corrupt couple and the money is their faith and belief and now she has come to Pakistan on the mission to plunder it again.
He said that PPP has no candidates for the election that is why they are talking about postponement of elections but we will not allow it to escape. He said that the founder party of Pakistan, Muslim League will contest PPP which disintegrated Pakistan.
He said that N-League voters should not waste their votes and give their votes to Pakistan Muslim League in order to foil the conspiracy of PPP once for all. He said that the resolution with regard to imposition of emergency has got full support in the public meeting, which has proved that people fully support the steps taken by President Gen. Pervez Musharraf.
