KARACHI: Eid-ul-Adha wil be celebrated on Monday with traditional religious zeal and fervour. The occasion is celebrated to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) by offering his son Hazrat Ismail (AS).

Eid prayers will be offerd at Eidgahs, mosques, playgrounds and open places.

After Eid prayers the faithful will sacrifice animals in memory of the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

However, partial Eid was observed in Fata on Sunday. Tribesmen of Mamozai, Saif Dara, Zafar Ghari, Otmella, Kasha and Warand area of Orakzai Agency, celebrated Eidul Azha on Sunday.

Besides these areas, Eid was also celebrated in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency and North Waziristan Agency, while it was also observed in the remote bordering areas of Mohmand Agency and Bajaur Agency Sunday.

Meanwhile, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered strict security measures all over the country to prevent any act of terrorism during the occasion.

Strict security plans have been set in place to avoid any untoward incident.

Authorities have ordered trained snipers to be deputed on rooftops of buildings located adjacent to important public places such as mosques, government installations, buildings and offices across the city.

The steps have been taken in the wake of the increasing rush in markets before Eid.

It may be mentioned that Eid shopping reached its climax and heavy rush of buyers thronged to the markets, shopping centres and shops. A large number of women and children were seen buying children’s garments, sweaters, socks, vests, bangles, mehndi (hena).
