The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Masha'allah Shakeri, has said: "The Message of Iqbal was effective in organising the Islamic Revolution in Iran, and Iran put into effect the thoughts and ideas of Iqbal prior to other countries dominated by West."
Allama Iqbal has mostly versified his philosophical thoughts in Farsi language. Hazrat Ayatollah al-Uzma Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has stated this in the International Congress on Allama Iqbal, which was convened in Tehran.
The Iranian envoy, in his message on the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, said he represents cultural, fraternal and friendly co-operation between Pakistan and Iran as well as the Islamic world. The birth anniversary of the great poet of the Islamic world is an apt opportunity for the world Muslims to realise his ideals, through their unity and solidarity, the statement added.
Allama Iqbal enjoys great popularity among the people of both countries and his poetry has had immense influence on the thoughts of the thinkers of the two countries. His thoughts were instrumental in awakening the Muslims from deep slumber and invited them towards friendship and unity with each other.
Allama Iqbal gave the message of freedom and revolution for the human chained by colonialism. As a result of the thinking and ideas of Allama Iqbal and sustained efforts and striving by the enforcers of this thinking, the name of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah must be mentioned ahead of all of them as the Islamic country of Pakistan came into existence.
He based his thoughts on the Holy Quran an prompted humanity to identify their self in his interpretation. He rid the Muslims from disillusionment, and reminded them of their future. In fact, he brought courage to the Muslims of the present era, and called upon the Muslims to pursue science and knowledge in accordance with the Islamic culture, the message added.
