Germany on Friday urged the immediate release of former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto from house arrest and other political activists detained in recent days. "The German government calls on the Pakistani leadership to end the house arrest of Benazir Bhutto," foreign ministry spokesman Martin Jaeger told a regular government news conference.
"We also call on the Pakistani leadership to set free the many political activists who have been detained."
