Karachi Press Club was besieged here on Sunday by police and rangers, which lasted the whole day causing great hardships to KPC members and other people.
Strongly condemning the provincial and city governments' action, KPC President Sabihuddin Ghausi and Secretary Imtiaz Khan Faran said that protest against the government's black laws and atrocious steps was the right of journalists and people of the country.
Blocking roads and harassing masses was naked violation of basic human rights guaranteed under the Constitution. They also slammed the law enforcement agencies' personnel for body search of journalists and stoppage of their vehicles at pickets set up by the LEAs around the press club. They called for an end to the blockade of roads leading to the KPC and lifting the siege immediately.
