WTO workshop on "Trade Facilitation, Self Assessment of Needs and Priorities for Pakistan" has been postponed, as the UNCTAD and WTO delegations refused to visit Pakistan because of the ongoing state of emergency and political crisis, sources told Business Recorder on Saturday.
Workshop organised by World Trade Organisation (WTO) wing of ministry of commerce was scheduled to be held in Karachi from 12-16 November 2007, they added.
"Representatives of the customs, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Pakistan Standard Institute (PSI), State Bank of Pakistan, ministry of commerce etc were invited to attend the workshop," they informed.
Five-day workshop spanned over four days for the training of different government departments, while two days were allocated for the meeting between customs, TDAP, PSI, SBP, ministry of commerce and broader related agencies with (United Nations Commission on Trade and Development) UNCTAD and WTO officials.
