Sialkot district government is preparing a long-term plan for the construction of a ring road aimed at streamlining the traffic in Sialkot. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Sunday that the proposed plan would cover the fifty years needs of Sialkot.
Apart from this special attention had been accorded on the repair and reconstruction 122 roads in Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district and this development programme would being accomplished at a cost of Rs 1.22 billion. More than Rs 35 crore were being spent on the widening of Sialkot-Head Marala road for channelling the traffic, sources added.
Besides, district government was also making extra-ordinary efforts for tracking the agriculture sector on scientific lines and to introduce new agricultural technologies for increasing per acre yield of crops in Sialkot district.
Under the programme special attention had also been focused on effective agricultural research, improvement of irrigation system, and ensuring the sufficient availability of quality seeds as well as on setting up green houses at Sialkot, Daska, Pasrur and Sambrial tehsils of the district, sources added.
