Some commodities depicted sharply lower trend while non essential item were on the surge on the wholesales market by November 10, 2007. On Monday Jodia Bazar had some fluctuations in chemicals which depicted mixed trend.
Such as in (Per Kg) sodium sulphate closed lower by Re 1 to Rs 18, NJ Taiwan rose by Rs 660 to Rs 138.60, formic acid from Germany rose by 40 paisa to Rs 77. Petroleum jelly, sulphonic acid soft rose by Rs 4 to Rs 88, PVA Japan closed lower by Rs 1.40 to Rs 181, and caustic Taiwan shed Re 1 to Rs 42, Hydor sulphate China 88 Pc quoted at Rs 70. 40, from Germany same item lost Rs 2 to Rs 80, acetic acid Taiwan rose by Rs 4 to Rs 92 and same item from Korea rose by Rs 2 to Rs 84. Hydrogen Peroxide (35 Pc) Taiwan closed lower by 50 paisa to Rs 33 and Korea 5 Pc shed 25 paisa to Rs 32.75.
On seed and grain markets sugar registered rise, cottonseed cakes low type was up Rs 10 to Rs 1500, while good type gained Rs 50 to Rs 1550, cakes low variety plus Rs 15 to Rs 510, while better type rose by Rs 20 to Rs 520.
Cottonseed with bag new low type was quoted Rs 675, while better type was up Rs 10 to Rs 690, cottonseed old low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 550, better type rose by Rs 10. Sugar fine quality sustained rose by Rs 20 to Rs 2650, low type was quoted at Rs 2600, wheat old and new both rose sharply by Rs 25 to Rs 7550 and Rs 1565.
On Tuesday grain markets depicted mixed pattern where Irri 9 Sindh rose by Rs 100 to Rs 2700 other type was quoted at Rs 2800. Irri 6 Sindh was marginally higher by Rs 5 to Rs 1935 and better type quoted at Rs 1940. Basmati 386 new was sharply down by Rs 200 to Rs 3500 and other type quoted at Rs 3600. Gram garda Punjab lower by Rs 25 to Rs 2625 while the other type was quoted at Rs 2750. Gram dal peas Canada also shed Rs 25 to Rs 3125 and other type was quoted at Rs 3250, yellow peas Canada lost same amount at Rs 2525 and better type quoted at Rs 2625. On Wednesday seed prices soared.
The rapeseed Nawabshah lane low type rose by Rs 75 to Rs 1575, better type was up Rs 50 to Rs 1600, Mirrpur lane rapeseed rose by Rs 5 to Rs 1525/1550 while. Rapeseed cakes rose by Rs 50 to Rs 560 and better type was quoted at Rs 570.
On Jodia Bazar some milk powder showed modest fluctuations in (25 Kg) Euro Gold closed lower by Rs 150 to Rs 7,100, and Melco veg dipped by Rs 350 to Rs 6050. Sweetened (per carton) Lcky Boy closed higher by Rs 50 to Rs 1925 and Comalle rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2350.
On Thursday sales were enormous ahead of holiday on account of Iqbal Day. Cottonseed with bag Punjab inferior type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 550, while better type gained Rs 30 to Rs 560. Cotton oilcakes in Sindh rose by Rs 70 to Rs 680 while better type was quoted at Rs 690. Makai was be higher at Rs 1525. Juwar quoted at Rs 1300. Wheat old and new picked up Rs 30 to Rs 1560, while better type rose by Rs 25 to Rs 1575.
Gram garda Punjab low type turned lower by Rs 25 to Rs 2600, better type shed Rs 50 to Rs 2700, gram dal Punjab turned lower by Rs 25 to Rs 3100 while better type was quoted at Rs 3250. Yellow peas Canada inferior type shed Rs 25 to Rs 2500 while other type was quoted at Rs 2650. Beetle Chana I shed Rs 25 to Rs 2850 while other was quoted at Rs 3000, 50x50 low type shed Rs 65 to Rs 2650 while other type was quoted at Rs 2800, dal beetle shed Rs 50 to shed Rs 3150 while other type was quoted at Rs 3250.
On JB commodities (per 40 Kg) black pepper Singapore ended higher by Rs 400 to Rs 96oo, black pepper Ceylon ended higher by 800 to Rs 14,800. Big cardamom rose by Rs 400 to Rs 10,000, cloves closed higher by Rs 600 to Rs 10,600, dry ginger Ethiopia closed higher by Rs 100 to Rs 2400, star aniseed rose by Rs 400 to Rs 5000 and cuminseed rose by Rs 1400 to Rs 8,300.
Friday was a closed holiday. The wholesales commodity markets were closed on account of Iqbal Day hence no fluctuations. On Saturday prices remained mostly stable. However, prices of wheat, rice and sugar were modestly higher.
