Hundreds of students and faculty of Quaid-e-Azam University continued their protest against the emergency, imposed by General Musharraf, marching across the campus chanting slogans against military dictatorship and state repression. They strongly condemned the General Musharraf and demanded him to end imposition of emergency.
A large number of female students from different departments and faculty members, particularly from Physics, Chemistry, Women's Studies and Anthropology who were prominent participated the demonstration.
The students also pledged to contact with other universities across the country to joint hands to make this anti-dictatorship movement strong and effective.
They also vowed to organise a co-ordinated nation-wide protest of students and specifically emphasised the need to involve students of LUMS, FAST and other active students in other cities.
The entire Quaid-e-Azam University campus was littered with stickers reading 'Fauji Amriat Namanzoor' while pamphlets were being distributed in all hostels and academic departments.
The students acknowledged their role in expanding the scope of the anti-dictatorship movement and the fact that this is the first time in decades that students have been at the forefront of a political movement.
They said that this role would be strengthened and all efforts would be made to maintain the momentum of the movement not just till the end of the Musharraf government but until all legitimate judges were restored to their position and the military's role in politics was permanently ended.
