The Consul General of the Sultanate of Oman in Karachi H.E. Khamis bin Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Farsi will hold in Karachi a reception at a local hotel marking the 37th National Day of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday, November 20, 2007.
Meanwhile in the Sultanate of Oman the celebrations of the 37th National Day will go through the week with main functions on November 18, 2007 which is the actual National Day of the Sultanate ruled by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Saeed.
It may be mentioned here that the Sultanate of Oman is an active member in the UN the GCC and other regional organisations and has very good bilateral ties with Pakistan with special interest in the further development of the Port of Gwadar over which it rules till September 8, 1958 when the Sultanate of Oman handed it over to Pakistan under an agreement and Gwadar became part of Pakistan. However, the traditional links between the Sultanate of Oman and Pakistan have prospered and grown over the years and both countries have signed several agreements for bilateral co-operation and investment.
