National AIDS Control Program (NACP) is launching a month-long campaign to commemorate World AIDS Day on December 1, on Wednesday at 11:00am in a media conference. The conference will be chaired by Major General Shaihda Malik (Retd), Director General Health, quoted a press release.
Dr Asma Bokhari, National Program Manager, National AIDS Control Programme and Martin Mogwanja, UNICEF representative both will be present at the occasion. The objective of the conference is to update the media about the initiatives of the government in the prevention of HIV and AIDS so that they can play their role effectively in promoting awareness among general population and to eliminate stigma and all the discrimination attached with HIV and AIDS.
The booklet "From Prevention through Protection - Expanding HIV Response for Children and Young People in Pakistan" will also be launched during he event.
