The Ministry of Environment has decided to launch a new website on the complaints of stakeholders searching data for research and other purposes, sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday. "The new website is being designed and hopefully would be launched within 15 to 20 days.
However, the current URL will remain unchanged and could be accessed," officials said. The officials further explained that most of the people, stakeholders, experts and surfers had complained about the layout of the website, which was designed in 2002. Therefore taking into account their feedback, the new website will contain bulk of systematic information about the Environment Ministry and its attached departments.
The officials further said that the Ministry has asked surfers to send their articles on environment and the best contribution will be uploaded on the new website. It is disappointing to note that in Pakistan there is no trend of up-dating the websites. There are only a few organisations, which update their websites regularly.
