The outflow of portfolio investment continued as the foreign investors withdrew over 27.632 million dollars from the country's equity market on Wednesday. The special convertible rupee accounts (SCRAs) balances declined to 107.924 million dollars on November 14.
Analysts believed that the recent outflow of portfolio investment from the country's equity market was due to prevailing uncertainty on political front in the country. The foreign investors preferred to offload their holding on available margins in this situation.
The SCRA balances had witnessed a total decline of 246 million dollars as compared to the highest level of 353 million dollars recorded on November 6. The recent outflow was witnessed by the investors from the US, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and B. V. Island.
