Five persons were killed in a head-on collision between a wagon and a speeding bus at Arifwala-Sahiwal Road near Chak 118/9-R early Friday morning, due to poor visibility. A wagon (LHB-2602) coming from Kamir rammed into a bus (LRT-1297) coming from the opposite side, resulting in the death of five passengers, while ten others received injuries.
Four of those killed were identified as Abdul Mannan (wagon driver), Farzana Abbas of Chak 34/E-B, Nasim Akhtar and Habib Ahmad. The injured including Khalilur Rehman advocate, Zakir, Riasat, Muhammad Sharif, Muhammad Asghar and others were shifted to the hospital for treatment, where the condition of some is said to be critical.
