Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Finance Secretary Mohammad Pervaiz Malik has demanded that the government should free Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and all other politicians, political workers, human right activists, judges, lawyers and journalists and drop cases against them.
Malik said the emergency was imposed not only to crush the judiciary and the media but also to curb healthy political activities, basic human rights and civil liberties so that nobody could dare to voice against oppression and the dictatorial rule.
He said the rulers wanted to achieve their objectives and election results of their own choice with the enforcement of the emergency. He said the immoral and unconstitutional acts would never give support to the rulers. He said the president must quit and the power transfer should smoothly take place under the rules.
He also blamed police for manhandling PTI Chief Imran Khan in the Punjab University, saying it was a disappointing act. He accused some members in the ranks of opposition and their supporting institutions of trying to damage the movement. He said the Punjab University incident was unpardonable.
