Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) NWFP has extended the project of Third Party Facilitation Centre to facilitate business community in resolution of their legal problems at door steps.
Talking to Business Recorder, Mohammad Amir, Assistant Manager Legal Services, Smeda NWFP said that the project was initially launched for a period of six months.
In this connection, the authority has also established a Centre at Jinnah Street, a busy shopping centre of Peshawar Cantonment, which was run successfully resulting in the resolution of the hundreds of legal problems concerning their business. "The project has been extended on the request of Anjuman-e-Tajran, Jinnah street," the Smeda official added.
The Centre during last six months provided legal services and counselling to the traders on matters relating to rental issues with Cantonment Board, Income Tax, utility bills, property tax, registration of Partnership Firm, Company registration, food laws, export to Afghanistan.
The centre also helped traders in drafting of letters in some cases, while lawyers of the legal service wing of the authority have also appeared in courts on behalf of the traders concerned.
The Legal Facilitation Centre established in collaboration with Sarhad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) and traders association of the Jinnah Street, Peshawar Cantonment, serving the traders on every Thursday from 3: 00 PM to 5:30 PM. "Our services are for all traders and will welcome any one who are required any kind of legal service in their business related problems," he added.
