Pakistan is immediately sending two C-130 planes of relief goods to Bangladesh for the vulnerable people of the country devastated by a recent cyclone. Two more C-130 planes, carrying a 30 bed field hospital, will leave for Dhaka on November 23, while a ship carrying relief items will also sail shortly.
Chairman, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lieutenant General (Retd) Farooq Ahmed Khan is in contact with the concerned authorities in Bangladesh to make arrangements for the relief goods.
The aid sent, under the direction of President General Pervez Musharraf, includes medicines, blankets and food items. The President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan have already sent condolence messages to their counterparts of Bangladesh.
