Though City District Government Multan (CDGM) is spending millions of rupees on the improvement of different recreational parks and other entertainment places, which sometimes back used to provide leisure moments from the hectic daily routine, yet these are sharply losing attraction owing to deteriorating security situation and lukewarm attitude of the authorities in maintaining such places.
A recently carried out survey by this correspondent revealed that these public parks have no more remained sites to visit with family to spend a few healthy moments due to the deteriorating law and order in the city and above all the failure of the CDGM in maintaining the beauty of these eye-catching places.
A citizen, Ghulam Rasool who had arrived in Allama Iqbal Park to enjoy some moments before going back to work at noon, said, "we came here for relaxation in our break time daily, but there is no proper sitting arrangements in the park." He added that as there was no gardener, the grass and plants are also dying out. Another visitor said that in some parks, few facilities were installed for the children but now they were not in their original shape. He also complained about the parking problem.
