Multan Union of Journalists continued protest against curbs on media, as scores of media persons staged a protest demonstration in front of the Press Club on Friday. Noted journalists and civil society representatives, while wearing black bands and hoisting black flags, chanted slogans for press freedom.
"Despite accepting the demands of journalists community, government still started torturing journalists across the country. It is state terrorism and we want to clear one thing on rulers that our struggle for the restoration of Constitution will never cease till fulfil our demands," said Nadeem Shah President of MUJ.
Secretary General of Pakistan, Federal Union of Journalists (Dastoori), Rao Shamim Asghar strongly condemned the use of brutal force by police against journalists in Karachi, Faisalabad, Quetta and other cities of the country. While, leaders of PML-N, Jamaat Islami, and PPP joined the journalists to express their solidarity.
